Nukotoys presented Animal Planet and Monsterology NUKO™, revolutionary collectible cards that magically interact when Tapped to iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone game Apps. Tap a NUKO™ containing a Monsterology Cyclops, and a fully animated 3D Cyclops appears in game. Tap an Animal Planet Tiger, and a 3D tiger jumps into the screen.

Among the highlights from the week, we’re thrilled to announce that the editors of Parenting Magazine, in search of the coolest and most innovative toys, awarded Nukotoys “Best in Play Toy Fair 2012.”

Kotaku.com proclaimed of Monsterology, “New Strategy Game Is Half Risk, Half Magic: The Gathering,” and continued, “Part collectible card set, part strategic board game, the upcoming iOS app Monsterology could be another cool addition to the growing sector of the gaming industry that combines physical media with virtual interactivity.”

Jonathan Takiff of Philly.com, in a piece titled “These Apps are Just for Kids,” stated, “Jack and the Beanstalks’ ‘Magic Beans’ have got nothing on the collectible trading cards from Silicon Valley start‐up Nukotoys, coming soon (and almost everywhere) at $1.99 in packs of three.”

ToysBulletin.com hailed NUKO™ as “revolutionizing current standards in merging digital and physical game play… For kids ages three to ten, this is the most amazing interactive experience they could ask for.”

The objective for the day was simple: let’s have a meeting of the minds!

For some time now, Nukotoys has wanted to build a real connection with parents.  We want to ensure that we’re creating the best quality of experiences for youth and families.  Earlier this summer, we reached out to a group of amazing bloggers and asked them to come to San Francisco to spend the day with us.  Rodger and Doug wanted to share the core goals that drive Nukotoys, let our guests demo our games, meet our team, and open the floor to a range of discussions regarding the toy and online market.

We asked each of our amazing Parents@Play members about their thoughts and recommendations for a company, like Nukotoys, who wants to build fun games and applications for children today.  In brainstorming sessions led by Children’s television dynamo Karen Gruenberg (Children’s Television Workshop, Sprout, Noggin), the range of creativity, innovation, and thoughtfulness from the group was beyond what we could have hoped for!  Truly, you could not find a more excited group than our Nuko team after Thursday’s event.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to share more about our Parents@Play team, shed light on our upcoming projects, highlight some of the innovation and technology we’re using, and hopefully give the world a wee glimpse into the amazing worlds and experiences we have in store!
